Authorities reported that two United Airlines Boeing 737 planes collided on Friday at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.
United Airlines officials stated that the incident occurred when the wing of one plane struck the tail of another stationary aircraft while taxiing toward the gate.
All 113 passengers and 5 crew members on the taxiing plane exited safely without injuries. The other plane was reportedly empty at the time.
Authorities added that no further information is available at this time. Airport officials and United Airlines confirmed that safety procedures continue to be fully implemented and that both planes will undergo the necessary inspections.
