Mustafa Buluntu, President of the Kahramanmaraş Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KTSO), announced the completion of partnership applications for KM Space Aviation Inc. Buluntu stated that a total of 168 applications were received, and a capital of $220 million, including TUSAŞ, was formed. He noted that the establishment of the company will take place next week.
Following the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, referred to as the ‘Century’s Disaster’, efforts were accelerated for defense industry projects in the region. TUSAŞ also announced its investment in Kahramanmaraş. In this context, TUSAŞ initiated a project jointly with the Kahramanmaraş Chamber of Commerce and Industry, establishing the ‘TUSAŞ Aircraft Parts Production Facility’. However, this project expanded beyond just a factory to establish a larger defense industry company.
Applications for the partnership company, which garnered significant interest from the region’s tradesmen, merchants, and industrialists, began on February 29 and ended on April 30. A total of 168 applications were submitted, resulting in a capital of $220 million. This development demonstrates Kahramanmaraş’s potential and determination in the defense industry.
Mustafa Buluntu, President of KTSO, stated that this move signifies a significant transformation and change for Kahramanmaraş, expressing that the region will now assume a strong role in the defense industry. He also emphasized that approximately 150 companies will be involved in the project as subcontractors.
With this partnership, Kahramanmaraş will play a more effective and robust role in the defense industry.
