Türkiye has made a significant change to its visa policy for citizens of the People’s Republic of China holding ordinary passports. With the decision published in the Official Gazette and signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, visa exemption has been granted to Chinese citizens for tourist travel and transit passages.
According to the decision, citizens of the People’s Republic of China will be exempt from visas for their tourist visits to Türkiye, with a maximum stay of 90 days within each 180-day period, as well as for transit passages.
It was announced that the regulation, which entered into force upon its publication in the Official Gazette, will be effective as of 2 January. The decision is expected to contribute to the strengthening of tourism, trade, and cultural relations between the two countries.
