Turkish Airlines Increased Passenger Numbers by 11.9% in August 2025
Turkish Airlines (THY) recorded a strong growth performance in August 2025. The airline increased its passenger numbers by 11.9% compared to the same period last year, carrying a total of 9.4 million passengers.
Strong Increase in Traffic
According to Turkish Airlines’ August 2025 traffic results:

Total passengers: 9.463 million (2024: 8.452 million)

Passenger load factor: rose to 86.7% (2024: 85.8%)

International-to-international transfer passengers: up 17.3% to 3.49 million

Cargo and mail: up 10.5% to 191 thousand tonnes

Number of landings (passenger flights): up 12.8% to 55,086
Domestic and International Performance

Domestic: 3.48 million passengers carried; load factor reached 92.6%

International: 5.98 million passengers served; load factor rose to 86%

Significant growth achieved particularly in Africa (21%), the Middle East (14.1%), and the Far East (10.9%)
January – August 2025 Period
In the first eight months of the year:

Total passenger numbers increased by 5.8% to 60.7 million

Passenger load factor rose by 0.6 points to 82.7%

International-to-international transfer passengers increased by 10.3% to 23.1 million

Cargo and mail grew by 5.4% to 1.4 million tonnes
