Celebrating the honor of receiving this prestigious award for three consecutive years, Turkish Airlines continues to set an example in the aviation industry with its pioneering sustainability activities.
Leading Sustainability Initiatives
This award, given by World Finance, once again certifies Turkish Airlines’ exceptional performance in sustainability. Turkish Airlines offers passengers a sustainable travel experience through its voluntary carbon offset platform CO2mission, the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), in-flight sustainable products, and waste management.

Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat commented on the award, saying, “Receiving the ‘Most Sustainable Flag Carrier Airline’ award for three consecutive years is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and environmental management. In line with our pledge to become a Carbon Neutral Airline by 2050, we incorporated the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) into our climate change combat plans in 2022 and expanded our use of SAF with new routes in 2023. We will continue to add new routes to our network where we use SAF and base all our operations on sustainable practices.”
Efforts to Reduce Carbon Footprint
Since 2008, Turkish Airlines has conducted over 100 operational optimization projects to reduce its carbon footprint, achieving significant success in fuel savings and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in 2023.
