On Wednesday morning, Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board Ahmet Bolat and Turkish Airlines officials paid a return visit to Wei Xiaodong, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Istanbul.
During the visit, the delegation discussed important topics and highlighted the strengthening aviation ties between Turkey and China. In his statement, Ahmet Bolat said:
“Turkish Airlines operates daily flights to Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou in China, where we aim to bring 2 million tourists. Until recently, Chinese airlines did not fly to Istanbul, but now four airlines operate 20 flights a week, bringing tourists to Istanbul. China Southern Airlines flies three times a week from Beijing Daxing and three times a week from Guangzhou; Sichuan Airlines flies four times a week from Chengdu; China Eastern Airlines operates daily flights from Shanghai; and Air China flies three times a week from Beijing to Istanbul. Consul General Wei Xiaodong emphasized the importance of more frequent flights from more cities. We will continue to cooperate on this issue,” he said.
