An Airbus A319 passenger aircraft belonging to the Turkish Airlines (THY) fleet and in airworthy condition has been donated by the Republic of Türkiye to the Republic of Albania.
Within this scope, the agreement providing for the transfer of all rights of the TC-GVC registered Airbus A319 aircraft, owned by Turkish Airlines, to the Albanian side has entered into force.
Used as a state aircraft for many years
The TC-GVC registered Airbus A319 aircraft had previously been used by the Republic of Türkiye as a state aircraft for many years and was later incorporated into the Turkish Airlines inventory. It was stated that the aircraft is technically in airworthy condition.
USD 11.9 million donation published in the Official Gazette
The agreement covering the transfer of the aircraft, valued at approximately USD 11.9 million, was signed between the Republic of Türkiye and the Republic of Albania, published in the Official Gazette, and officially entered into force.
While the said donation is considered an indicator of the political, diplomatic and strategic cooperation between the two countries, it is also stated that relations in the field of aviation have gained a new dimension.
