Workers at London Gatwick Airport were planning to strike this month due to a pay dispute. However, the strike has been temporarily postponed as union members vote on a new pay offer. Approximately 300 security and passenger services staff were expected to strike from July 12-14 and July 18-21. If the dispute is not resolved, further strike actions could occur during the summer holidays.
Italy: Airport Staff Preparing to Strike
Unionized staff at Italian airports went on strike on July 5. Employees at Milan Linate and Bergamo Orio al Serio airports are preparing to strike on July 21. The strikes are expected to cause disruptions, particularly between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
