THY Instructor Ahmet Nevres Erkin Found Dead at Home

Ahmet Nevres Erkin (65), Turkish Airlines (THY) simulator instructor and retired Staff Colonel, was found dead at his home in Efeler, Aydın. The exact cause of death will be determined by an autopsy.

THY Simulator Instructor Ahmet Nevres Erkin Passes Away at Home

Ahmet Nevres Erkin (65), a Turkish Airlines (THY) simulator instructor and retired Staff Colonel living in Efeler, Aydın, was found dead at his residence. Considered one of the best Turkish pilots in the world, Erkin had worked at Çıldır Airport, where THY trains its pilots, following his retirement.

Colleagues Became Concerned After He Missed Work

Erkin, who was involved in pilot training, did not return to work after his two-day rest period. Concerned, his colleagues went to his home. When the door did not open, the police and fire department were notified.

Teams entered through the balcony and found Erkin motionless in a chair.

Had Heart Condition

It was reported that Erkin, who lived alone, had been suffering from a heart condition for some time. After the on-site investigation, his body was taken to the Adnan Menderes University Forensic Medicine Institute morgue.

The exact cause of death will be clarified following an autopsy.
