A malfunction in the self-service check-in kiosks used for border control in Canada caused major disruptions at airports. Due to the problem in the system operated by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), many passengers were forced to wait on aircraft, while long queues also formed inside the terminals.
According to aviation news, CTV, one of the country’s leading broadcasters, stated: “Due to the malfunction in CBSA’s self-service check-in kiosks, hundreds, even thousands of passengers, were stuck on planes or had to wait for long periods at numerous airports across the country.”
CBSA officials announced that they were aware of the malfunction and that technical teams were working to resolve the issue. However, no clear information was shared on when the system would return to normal.
