The European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) has published its European Aviation Report covering the period 10–16 November. According to the report, Istanbul Airport maintained its top position as Europe’s busiest airport with an average of 1,468 daily flights during this period.
Istanbul Leads Europe
EUROCONTROL data revealed that Istanbul Airport surpassed other major European hubs in terms of flight numbers. Istanbul was followed by:
- London Heathrow – 1,301 flights
- Amsterdam Schiphol – 1,289 flights
- Paris Charles de Gaulle – 1,250 flights
- Frankfurt Airport – 1,215 flights
Sabiha Gökçen in the Top 10
Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport ranked 10th among Europe’s busiest airports with 736 daily flights during the same period. With its two major airports, Istanbul continues to maintain strong representation in European air traffic.
