Pegasus Airlines carried 3.53 million passengers in May. Strong growth in domestic operations stood out, while the decline in international passenger numbers put pressure on overall traffic performance.
Pegasus Air Transport Inc. announced its traffic results for May 2026. The company’s total passenger count decreased by 3% year-on-year to 3.53 million, while the total number of passengers carried in the first five months of the year increased by 3% to 16.64 million.
While strong growth in the domestic market stood out in May, the decline in international traffic limited overall passenger performance. Despite this, Pegasus continued its capacity and operational growth during the first five months of the year.
Double-Digit Growth in Domestic Operations
Pegasus’ domestic passenger count increased by 15% year-on-year in May, reaching 1.51 million. During the same period, domestic landings rose by 26% to 8,411, while seat capacity expanded by 24% to 1.79 million.
In the January–May period, the number of domestic passengers increased by 15% to 6.68 million, while capacity growth reached 18%.
Decline in International Traffic
The company’s international passenger count decreased by 13% in May to 2.02 million. International landings fell by 12%, while seat capacity declined by 11%. The international load factor stood at 82.1%.
During the first five months of the year, international passenger traffic declined by 3% to 9.96 million, while capacity decreased by 1%.
Load Factor Reached 82.9%
Pegasus’ total load factor stood at 82.9% in May. In the same period last year, this figure was 85.9%, indicating a decline of 3 percentage points.
The company’s total seat capacity increased by 1% in May to 4.25 million, while total landings reached 20,072. The average number of passengers per aircraft was recorded at 176.
16.64 Million Passengers in the First Five Months
Pegasus carried a total of 16.64 million passengers during the first five months of 2026. During the same period, total landings increased by 5% to 93,621, while seat capacity expanded by 6% to 19.74 million. The company’s average load factor for the five-month period was 84.3%.
The announced figures revealed that Pegasus continues its strong growth in domestic operations, while still feeling the impact of demand- and capacity-related pressures in international markets.
