Passengers on Turkish Airlines flight TK2430 from Istanbul to Antalya were evacuated using emergency slides following a technical malfunction after landing. Moments of panic and the evacuation were captured on mobile phone cameras.
The Boeing 777 aircraft, registered TC-LKF and operated by Turkish Airlines, landed safely at Antalya Airport. However, while taxiing, smoke was detected coming from the landing gear. As a precaution, an emergency evacuation was initiated under the guidance of the airport fire department (ARFF), and passengers were quickly evacuated via the slide system.
Turkish Airlines Press Advisor Yahya Üstün issued an official statement confirming that the evacuation was successfully completed without any injuries. A technical inspection later revealed that the smoke was caused by a malfunction in the aircraft’s hydraulic pipes.
An additional flight was scheduled for the return leg of the journey. Following the incident, technical teams launched a comprehensive investigation of the aircraft.
