“One in Every Two Aircraft in the Sky Has a TEI Part” – The National Technology Initiative Continues

TEI met with regional companies in Kayseri to strengthen the defence industry ecosystem. The programme addressed procurement processes, cooperation opportunities and Türkiye’s domestic production capabilities in aviation engines.

TUSAŞ Engine Industries Inc. (TEI), one of Türkiye’s leading organisations in the field of aviation engines, met with companies from Kayseri seeking to add value to the defence industry. Continuing its work with the vision of the National Technology Initiative, TEI is reinforcing its position as a competent international manufacturer with its high-quality products and services, while also expanding its domestic supply network.

The gathering was hosted by Melikgazi Municipality Mehmet Altun Aviation and Space Technologies Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. The programme was marked by a presentation from TEI Deputy General Manager of Finance and Procurement, Emre Saylan. Saylan shared detailed information on procurement processes, business capabilities, requirements and sustainable business models. Participating companies had the opportunity to gain extensive insights into cooperation opportunities with TEI during the Q&A session.

“Kayseri has strong potential for the defence industry”

Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Palancıoğlu, who spoke during the programme, emphasised that they support the development of Türkiye’s defence industry with the Aviation High School opened in the district. Highlighting the importance of efforts to boost the region’s potential, Mayor Palancıoğlu said:

“We are doing everything we can to make Kayseri a strong centre in the field of defence industry. We will continue to support every cooperation that will unlock the potential of our city.”

TEI: “One in every two aircraft has a TEI part”

Emre Saylan, TEI Deputy General Manager of Finance and Procurement, summarised the company’s current position with the following words:

“TEI is now a strong company capable of producing its own original engines and aircraft engine parts. Our journey began with just six parts, and today, one in every two aircraft in the sky contains a TEI part. We are continuing to expand our supply chain to take this success even further.”

Saylan stated that qualified production capabilities are increasing across all regions of Türkiye, and that TEI is contributing to this growth with new projects.

Akar: “Remaining strong is essential for our independence”

Hulusi Akar, Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA) National Defence Committee and AK Party Kayseri MP, who attended the programme, emphasised the strategic importance of Türkiye’s progress in the defence industry. Akar delivered the following message in his speech:

“For the security, welfare and independence of our 86 million citizens, we must remain strong. From light weapons to helicopters, from UAVs and UCAVs to Kaan and Kızılelma, all our projects demonstrate that this country stands on its own strength. The defence industry is one of the fundamental elements of being a strong state.”
