Kahramanmaraş MP Prof. Dr. Vahit Kirişci announced on his social media account that the Instrument Landing System (ILS) device installed at Kahramanmaraş Airport has completed all procedures and will be operational in September.

In his announcement, Prof. Dr. Vahit Kirişci stated that the installation and flight control tests of the device will be conducted. “The expropriation processes and infrastructure construction for the installation of the ILS device, an instrument approach system, at Kahramanmaraş Airport have been completed. It is planned to be operational in September after the installation and flight control tests are carried out,” he said.
Old CVOR Device Replaced with DVOR
Additionally, the old CVOR (Conventional VHF Omnidirectional Range) device at the airport has been replaced with the advanced DVOR (Doppler VHF Omnidirectional Range) device, which is more precise and less affected by environmental factors. Kirişci stated, “The CVOR device has been replaced with the DVOR device, and flight control tests have begun. Best wishes,” he said.
