Turkish Airlines shared its fleet growth, sustainability, digitalisation, and financial strategies during a session held in Bangkok as part of ISTAT Asia 2026. The company’s long-term growth approach and areas of operational transformation were discussed within aviation finance circles.
During sessions held in Bangkok under ISTAT Asia 2026, Turkish Airlines came together with key players of the global aviation finance ecosystem. The Fireside Chat session at the event was moderated by Conor Stafford on behalf of SMBC Aviation Capital.
Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board, Prof. Dr. Murat Şeker, addressed the company’s long-term strategic approach and areas of operational transformation within the programme.

Scale growth in fleet, maintenance, and operations
Şeker stated that at the core of Turkish Airlines’ growth strategy lies fleet expansion, along with strengthening technical maintenance capacity. It was noted that ancillary operations such as cargo operations and catering services are also being scaled in line with this expansion plan.
The company is seen to be focusing not only on passenger transport but also on an integrated aviation ecosystem, within which operational areas are being developed in a mutually supportive structure.
Sustainability and digitalisation investments
One of the key topics highlighted at the meeting was sustainability and digital transformation. Turkish Airlines’ projects aimed at reducing environmental impact, along with digital system investments that enhance operational efficiency, are among the fundamental components of its long-term growth strategy.

Financial structure and global fluctuations
As volatility in the global aviation market continues, it was stated that Turkish Airlines is focusing on a model that diversifies its financial structure and is supported by long-term partnerships. Managing capital expenditures within a more predictable and structured framework is highlighted as one of the elements supporting the company’s growth capacity.
Thanks to the industry gathering
At the end of the session, Prof. Dr. Murat Şeker thanked Conor Stafford for his moderation contribution and the ISTAT team for bringing the industry together through the event’s platform.
