The incident occurred when Pegasus Airlines flight PC-4022, an Airbus 320 flying from Antalya to Istanbul, was descending to land at Sabiha Gökçen Airport and encountered a laser pointed at the cockpit. The pilot immediately informed air traffic control, stating, “We are being targeted by a laser in our current position.” The controller then relayed the situation to the relevant authorities. Despite the incident, the aircraft landed safely without further issues.

According to regulations issued by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (SHGM), individuals who endanger flight safety by pointing lasers at aircraft face an administrative fine of 91,139 TL.
