Emirates and Saudia Aircraft Damaged After Attack

During Iranian-origin attacks at Dubai International Airport, parked Emirates A380 and Saudia A321 aircraft were damaged. Air traffic in the region was secured with special measures.

Parked Aircraft Targeted

Aircraft parked at Dubai International Airport were damaged due to debris and intercepted projectiles during the conflict. An Emirates Airbus A380 and a Saudia Airbus A321 were reported to have been hit in the early stages of the conflict.

Commercial Flights Not Affected

According to the report, no commercial passenger aircraft were shot down during the conflict. However, some parked aircraft at airports sustained damage due to attacks or shrapnel fragments. Last week, three private aircraft hit by shrapnel at Ben Gurion Airport were also damaged.

Special Measures in Air Traffic

The United Arab Emirates designated special flight corridors for pilots and prepared air traffic controllers to rapidly direct aircraft. According to sources familiar with the strategy, fighter jets were assigned to protect passenger aircraft from unmanned aerial vehicles.

Tensions Rising in the Region

Rising tensions between Iran and Israel and the United States escalated with the joint attack on February 28. In these attacks, more than 1,300 people lost their lives, while Iran retaliated with unmanned aerial vehicle and missile attacks against Gulf countries and military assets.

Aviation and Global Markets Affected

The conflicts in the region have revealed the vulnerability of major aviation hubs such as Dubai and Ben Gurion. Infrastructure damage and loss of life have caused disruptions in global aviation operations and markets. Airports continue to secure commercial flights with special measures.
