Turkish Airlines (THY) and airBaltic, Latvia’s flag carrier, have decided to expand their existing codeshare agreement by adding new destinations. The strengthened cooperation will offer greater connectivity and comfort for passengers travelling between the two airlines.
Since 2023, the two carriers have operated codeshare flights on the Istanbul–Riga route. According to a statement from Turkish Airlines, new cities in Finland and Lithuania have now been added to the joint network. THY flight codes will be applied to select airBaltic-operated flights departing from Riga.
Newly Added Destinations: Strengthening Links with Northern Europe
Under the expanded codeshare agreement, the Turkish Airlines (TK) flight code will now be valid on the following airBaltic destinations:

Tampere (TMP), Finland

Palanga (PLQ), Lithuania
On the other hand, airBaltic will also be able to place its flight code on select Turkish Airlines routes departing from Istanbul. These destinations include:

Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Ekşi highlighted that the expanded codeshare agreement supports the airline’s global connectivity strategy, stating:
“With this partnership, we continue to deliver on our commitment to offering more travel options to our passengers. As the airline that flies to the most countries in the world, we will keep strengthening our strategic alliances to unite continents and cultures.”

Pauls Cālītis, Acting CEO of airBaltic, emphasised that the expanded cooperation brings significant benefits for both Baltic and Turkish passengers:
“Our partnership with Turkish Airlines offers more connections for passengers travelling from the Baltics to Northern Europe. At the same time, it provides easier access to Baltic and Scandinavian destinations for guests travelling from Türkiye.”
New Routes Awaiting Approval
The newly defined codeshare routes under the expanded partnership are expected to be activated once all necessary regulatory approvals are secured. Passengers will be able to book these connecting flights easily through both airlines’ sales channels.
