IAG Boosts Q3 2024 Profits by 16.7%

International Airlines Group (IAG), a leading name in global aviation, has reported robust financial results for the third quarter of 2024. As of September 30, the group achieved a net profit of €1.435 billion, marking a 16.7% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Total revenue also rose to €9.329 billion, showcasing a 7.9% year-on-year growth driven by strong passenger demand.

Post-Pandemic Recovery

The aviation sector has faced significant challenges, including travel restrictions and staffing shortages during the pandemic. However, IAG has successfully navigated these hurdles through lower fuel prices and effective cost management.

Positive Outlook

Looking ahead, IAG plans to expand its capacity by 5% in Q4 2024, with a target of 6% growth by year-end. While fuel costs are projected to reach €7.7 billion for the year, the group’s cost controls and rising demand are expected to sustain its strong performance into the fourth quarter.
