The export of HÜRJET, developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), to Spain will be supported by a full-mission and flight training simulator developed by HAVELSAN. The simulator will be delivered to the Turkish Air Force by the end of 2026 and will strengthen HÜRJET’s export potential.
A New Step in HÜRJET Exports with the Simulator
HÜRJET’s export success will be supported by a full-mission flight training simulator developed by HAVELSAN. The simulator will serve the training of HÜRJET pilots operating both in Turkey and Spain.
The HÜRJET aircraft is developed by TUSAŞ, while the simulator is developed by HAVELSAN.
HÜRJET is planned to enter service in Turkey in 2027 and in Spain in 2028. The simulator will be delivered to the Turkish Air Force in the last quarter of 2026.
HAVELSAN is constructing a new simulator production facility in the HAB Organized Industrial Zone in Kahramankazan, Ankara. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest simulator production and integration facility.
The HÜRJET simulator allows pilots to experience various scenarios with embedded systems as if during real flights. This technology will increase HÜRJET’s export success and contribute significantly to the national defense industry ecosystem.
The HÜRJET simulator is designed as an engineering simulator, supporting engineering tests of unfinished aircraft, cockpit scenarios, and manoeuvring capabilities. Similar solutions are also being developed for other national platforms such as HÜRKUŞ, GÖKBEY, and ATAK, expected to increase export revenues.
Statements from HAVELSAN CEO Mehmet Akif Nacar
Nacar described President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s visit to HAVELSAN—the first in 22 years—as a source of pride. He explained that the current hangar is at full capacity with HÜRJET and GÖKBEY simulators, which is why the new facility is being built.
Nacar stated that the HÜRJET simulator will strengthen Turkey’s defense industry exports and that collaboration with TUSAŞ will increase export shares.
A New Era in National Defense Industry and Exports
The HÜRJET simulator will be used in training in Turkey and Spain, and every HÜRJET export will be supported with a simulator.
