President of Defence Industries, Haluk Görgün, conducted inspections at the KAAN hangar. The static test aircraft and two prototypes were in the same frame, while it was announced that the contract process for delivery to the Air Force has been initiated.
Critical Visit at the KAAN Hangar
Haluk Görgün conducted inspections at the KAAN hangar within the framework of the KAAN program, carried out under the coordination of the Presidency of Defence Industries.
During the visit, comprehensive information was obtained regarding the final stage of the full-scale static test aircraft, and on-site work was reviewed. The prototype that performed its first flight in 2024, the second prototype preparing for flight, and the static test aircraft appearing in the same frame indicate that the program’s development, verification, and serial production preparation processes are progressing in a planned and simultaneous manner.

Delivery Process to the Air Force Begins
It was announced that the contract process for delivery to the Turkish Air Force inventory has been initiated.
Next-Generation Combat Aircraft: A Strategic Leap
KAAN is stated to reflect the technological level reached by the Turkish defense industry with capabilities such as:
- Low observability features and internal weapon bays
- Advanced avionics architecture and sensor fusion
- Enhanced situational awareness and network-enabled operational capability
- Electronic warfare capabilities
- Multi-mission effectiveness in air-to-air and air-to-ground operations
It was noted that domestic engine development efforts continue in phases, and capability enhancements are proceeding according to the planned schedule.

Strategic Vision and Technological Depth
The program is not merely an aircraft project; it is a strategic technological initiative that concretely demonstrates Turkey’s engineering capacity, system integration competence, and independent defense vision.
It was emphasized that the KAAN program, carried out in line with the defense industry vision set by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has become one of the most concrete indicators of Turkey’s institutional coordination and technological depth in the field of aviation.
Engineers, technicians, and all stakeholders involved in the project were thanked, and it was stated that the testing and production processes are advancing step by step.
