Proud Achievement by NEU Students at TUSAŞ LIFT UP
The SKYLAB team, consisting of students from Necmettin Erbakan University (NEU) Faculty of Aviation and Space Sciences, Department of Aeronautical Engineering, achieved remarkable success in the LIFT UP – Industry-Oriented Undergraduate Graduation Projects Programme organised by Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ). The team was selected as one of the finalists among 222 projects from 67 universities and won third place.
The Award-Winning Project
Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mesut Uyaner, the SKYLAB team members Seda Nur Özsunar, Dilara Nur Bektaş, Sakine Kurtar, and Gamze Yaman attracted attention in the finals with their project titled “The Effect of Impact Velocity on Delamination Area and Dent Depth Distribution under ASTM D7136 and Its ANN-Supported Analysis.”
The project examined damage formation in CFRP laminates under low-velocity impact, both experimentally and with artificial intelligence support, offering an innovative approach to studies conducted within the framework of BVID criteria in aviation.

Prof. Dr. Murat Dilmeç, Dean of NEU Faculty of Aviation and Space Sciences, made the following statement regarding the achievement:
