Ercan Airport, the gateway of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to the world, will host 638 aircraft over the six-day period from 30 December 2025 to 4 January 2026.
In a statement from T&T Airport Management, it was noted that Ercan Airport will experience very heavy traffic before and after the New Year. T&T Airport Management has taken all necessary measures together with sector stakeholders to ensure that passengers can travel safely and comfortably.
The highest level of congestion at the airport will be experienced between 2 January 2025 and Sunday, 4 January 2026.
Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, AJet Airlines and SunExpress, which operate flights to Ercan Airport, have increased their services due to the New Year period.

The Highest Number of Flights on 4 January 2026
At Ercan Airport, a total of 106 arriving and departing flights will be served on 30 December 2025; 103 on New Year’s Eve, 31 December 2025; 84 on 1 January, the first day of the New Year; 117 on 2 January 2026; 107 on 3 January 2026; and 121 flights on Sunday, 4 January 2026.

T&T Airport Management General Manager M. Serhat Özçelik stated that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure a comfortable, smooth and safe journey for passengers using Ercan Airport during the New Year period.
Özçelik noted that, as heavy traffic is expected in the New Year period, coordination was carried out in advance with Turkish Airlines (THY), Pegasus Airlines, AJet Airlines and SunExpress Airlines, as well as with the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Civil Aviation, Istanbul Handling, the police, fire brigade, immigration and the Customs Department, and that the necessary precautions have been taken.
