Abdullah Güler, the Chairman of the AK Party Group, announced that the exit fee for overseas travel will be set at 500 TL as part of the ‘tax package’ to be submitted to the Parliament. Güler stated, “We are setting the exit fee for overseas travel at 500 lira. The fee amount will be increased annually based on the Revaluation Rate.” This change means that the current exit fee of 150 TL will see a 233% increase.
What is the Revaluation Rate?
The Revaluation Rate is determined each year following the announcement of inflation data in October. This rate is accepted as the 12-month average of the Producer Price Index (PPI) for October. The President has the authority to set different rates for some taxes and fees from the revaluation rate. For 2024, the Revaluation Rate was announced as 58.46%, and for 2023, it was 122.93%.
