Emirates Airline is preparing to build a dedicated “Cabin Crew Village” in Dubai Investment Park to accommodate 12,000 cabin crew members. The multibillion-dirham investment is seen as a key part of the airline’s long-term growth strategy.
One of the world’s leading airlines, Emirates has initiated a large-scale residential project aimed at improving the quality of life for its cabin crew. Under an agreement with Dubai Investment Park (DIP), the airline plans to develop a purpose-built Cabin Crew Village capable of housing up to 12,000 cabin crew members. While the project is described as a “multibillion-dirham” investment, no specific cost details have been disclosed.
Construction is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2026, with the first phase scheduled for completion in 2029. According to current information, the complex will consist of a total of 20 residential buildings, each 19 storeys high. Apartments will be available in one-, two- and three-bedroom configurations.
Designed as a mixed-use living space, the Cabin Crew Village will include retail areas, food and beverage outlets, fitness centres, clinics and various public spaces. The project will also feature landscaped green areas, walking paths and swimming pools.
Ali Mubarak Al Soori, Emirates’ Vice President for Procurement and Facilities, highlighted the importance of cabin crew to the passenger experience in his statement on the project. Al Soori said: “This investment is part of our long-term commitment to supporting the wellbeing of our cabin crew. The Cabin Crew Village has been designed to ensure our teams have easy access to daily needs, social spaces and shared living areas that foster a strong sense of community. At the same time, this project represents a strategic investment that supports our transition plans to Al Maktoum International Airport and our growth in the coming years.”
The facility is located between Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport, which is planned to become Emirates’ main hub in the future. The airline has not yet announced details regarding accommodation terms or subsequent phases following the completion of the first phase.
Meanwhile, Qazinform News Agency previously reported that last year the Emirates Group launched a global talent search and recruitment campaign in line with its growth targets.
