Due to increasing regional conflicts, the European Union (EU) has issued a significant warning to airlines to avoid Lebanese and Israeli airspace. In a statement from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), it was highlighted that both the EU and EASA are calling for the suspension of all flight activities in these regions following the escalation of clashes between Israel and Hezbollah.
Valid Until October 31
In its advisory to airlines, EASA reiterated its recommendation to avoid entering Lebanese and Israeli airspace until October 31, 2024. The statement emphasized that attacks affecting the safety of airspace over Israel and Lebanon have increased, and the security situation has deteriorated significantly.
The statement further noted that the European Commission and EASA have issued a Conflict Zone Information Bulletin (CZIB), advising against operating at all flight levels in these regions due to the conflict-related risks. This warning is valid until October 31 and may be updated depending on the situation.
