Small Plane Crashes in Denver, USA: 2 Dead

A plane crash near Centennial Airport resulted in the aircraft crashing into a car park, with the fire brought under control only with difficulty.

A small aircraft crashed near Centennial Airport, located in the suburbs of Denver, Colorado. Two people were killed when a Beech BE35 went down.

The crash occurred in the car park of an industrial office complex south of the airport. Witnesses reported first hearing an explosion before the plane hit the ground and burst into flames.

Deborah Takahara, spokesperson for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, stated that the aircraft was completely engulfed after impact. Brian Willie, spokesperson for South Metro Fire Rescue, said the blaze posed a risk of spreading to a nearby building and diesel generators.

Fire crews arrived quickly and brought the flames under control, but the aircraft was completely destroyed and the loss of life could not be prevented.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.
