A passenger aircraft belonging to AJet Airlines, operating the Ankara – Erzincan route, returned to Esenboğa Airport approximately 40 minutes after takeoff due to a bomb threat. Passengers, cabin crew, and pilots were evacuated from the aircraft, and a search revealed no negative findings.
The Boeing 737 aircraft registered as TC-JZO, belonging to AJet Airlines, took off from Ankara Esenboğa Airport at 23:55 to head to Erzincan Yıldırım Akbulut Airport. However, upon receiving a bomb threat in the skies of Yozgat, the aircraft returned to Ankara and landed again at Esenboğa Airport around 00:35.
While the aircraft was being towed to the apron, passengers and cabin crew were evacuated. Despite searches conducted by police and bomb disposal experts, no negative findings were encountered, and the bomb threat was determined to be unsubstantiated.
Some passengers opted to change their tickets to travel to Erzurum Airport, while others were directed to hotels to await further instructions for their journey to Erzincan.
Investigations regarding the false bomb threat are ongoing.
