Avolon, one of the leading companies in the global aircraft leasing sector, has made a significant strategic move by acquiring Castlelake Aviation, a subsidiary of its competitor Castlelake. With this major acquisition, Avolon gains a new asset portfolio valued at approximately $5 billion.
A Strong Asset Portfolio from the Acquisition
The assets acquired by Avolon include 105 leased aircraft, 13 aircraft on order, two leased engines, and nine debt facilities. Of this portfolio, 68% consists of narrow-body aircraft, while 70% of the planes are new-generation models. The average age of the aircraft is 4.7 years, with an average lease term of 8.4 years.
Strengthened Position in the Global Market
This acquisition further strengthens Avolon’s position in the global aircraft leasing market. The extensive portfolio of new-generation aircraft enhances the company’s competitive edge and is seen as a key step in supporting its future growth strategies.
