Art Takes Center Stage at Sea

Art takes to the seas with Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ Art 2 Sea program, featuring three curated voyages in 2027 aboard EUROPA 2.

Your artsy clientele will have access to the international art world through exhibitions, artist talks, private studio visits, museum tours and behind-the-scenes cultural experiences. Each sailing features a distinct curatorial vision inspired by the destinations visited. The 2027 program includes:

  • Indo-Pacific—17-day Beyond Breathtaking: Indonesia and the West Coast of Australia—Singapore to Perth (Jan. 24-Feb. 10, 2027)
    Explore the contemporary art scenes of Southeast Asia and Australia with visits to galleries, museums and artists’ studios, accompanied by renowned art experts including Kristian Jarmuschek, Thole Rotermund and WELTKUNST editor-in-chief Dr. Lisa Zeitz.
  • Japan & China—18-day Japanese Culture and Chinese Cities—Tokyo to Hong Kong (May 15-June 2, 2027)
    Travel from Tokyo to Hong Kong with art collectors Lea and Christian Schwarm, exploring East Asia’s dynamic contemporary art scene through curated exhibitions, artist discussions and exclusive cultural experiences.
  • Mediterranean—12-day The Elegance of the Mediterranean—Rome to Palma de Mallorca (Aug. 3-15, 2027)
    Hosted by Hamburg gallerist Carola Persiehl, this voyage highlights contemporary art across Italy, France and Spain with private collection visits, museum tours and exclusive access to acclaimed artists’ studios.
  • The ship, home to nearly 900 original works, will serve as an art salon during these sailings, with curated onboard exhibitions, vernissages and expert-led discussions.
