Another Success from Türkiye’s Indigenous Ballistic Missile TAYFUN: Direct Hit in Pre-Serial Production Test

TAYFUN, Türkiye’s longest-range indigenous ballistic missile, has successfully completed another test firing as part of the transition to serial production. In the latest trial, the target was hit with full accuracy, once again demonstrating the system’s operational capabilities.

Considered a critical milestone in the defence industry, the test firing was recorded as a significant development that strengthens Türkiye’s engineering level in ballistic missile technologies and enhances its deterrence capacity.

Head of Defence Industries Görgün: “Our Deterrence Power Has Been Reinforced”

Head of Defence Industries Haluk Görgün, in a statement shared on his social media account on Friday, emphasised that a new threshold had been crossed with the successful test launch of the TAYFUN missile. In his statement, Görgün said,

“Our TAYFUN missile has expanded the horizon of our security and further strengthened our deterrence power with its successful test firing.”

Underlining that this success was not merely a technical test, Görgün described the process as the result of national effort. He stated, “This achievement is a proud culmination of a long journey shaped by the intense work of our engineers, the intelligence of our youth, and the unwavering determination of our nation.”

Roketsan: System Operational, Serial Production Process Accelerated

Roketsan General Manager Murat İkinci also confirmed that the TAYFUN Missile and Weapon System is operational. İkinci said, “Our TAYFUN system, whose serial production and delivery activities we are rapidly continuing, hit its target with full accuracy in the latest test firing.”

Thanking all engineers and technical teams involved in the project, İkinci noted that tests for different configurations of the system are ongoing. In its assessment, the Ministry of National Defence also emphasised that indigenous and national systems continue to be inducted into the inventory in order to establish a multi-layered defence architecture.

A Critical Step in the Indigenous Defence Vision

According to experts, the successful test firing of TAYFUN represents a concrete indication of Türkiye’s goal to reduce external dependency in critical defence technologies and to increase strategic deterrence. Developed through indigenous innovation and industrial capacity, the system is among the core elements of Türkiye’s long-term national defence vision.

Officials state that every new development related to indigenous missile and air defence systems, with TAYFUN at the forefront, carries Türkiye’s sovereign defence power and national security to a more advanced level.
