AJet, one of the young and dynamic players in the Turkish aviation sector, has been accepted as a member of the international airline association BARIG (Board of Airline Representatives in Germany). With the membership announced on 28 January 2026 in Frankfurt am Main, AJet has further strengthened its position within the European aviation ecosystem.
AJet Joins the BARIG Community
AJet, Türkiye’s youngest low-cost airline and a rapidly growing subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, connects Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia with Türkiye’s major cities and tourism hubs. Today, AJet operates flights to 59 international destinations in 34 countries, as well as more than 40 destinations within Türkiye. In Germany, it serves eight different airports.
BARIG: A Dynamic and Efficient Airline
Michael Hoppe, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of BARIG, made the following assessment regarding AJet’s membership:
“AJet is a dynamically developing airline with targeted route planning and a focus on modern, low-emission, fuel-efficient aircraft. We are very pleased to welcome this new airline into the BARIG network.”
Fleet and Growth Targets
AJet’s current fleet includes Airbus A320neo, A321neo, Boeing 737-800 and 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The fleet, which currently consists of approximately 90 aircraft, is planned to exceed 200 aircraft over the next 10 years. In line with this growth plan, AJet is expected to operate in more than 50 countries.
CEO Kerem Sarp: Germany Is a Key Market
AJet CEO Kerem Sarp highlighted the strategic importance of BARIG membership, stating:
