220 Million Passengers Carried! Airbus A220 Sets a Record
Airbus has completed the delivery of the 500th aircraft in its A220 program. The model has carried more than 220 million passengers across nearly 2,000 routes.
500th Aircraft Delivered
European-based aerospace manufacturer Airbus SE announced that it has completed the 500th delivery in its A220 program within the single-aisle aircraft segment. In a statement from the company, it was noted that the program continues to expand on a global scale.
Widespread Use in Global Operations
Since entering service, the A220 model has been used in operations across approximately 2,000 different routes. It has been reported that the aircraft have carried more than 220 million passengers to date. This data highlights the model’s effectiveness in short- and medium-haul flights.
Efficiency and Environmental Performance at the Forefront
The A220 is among the preferred models for airlines due to its fuel efficiency and low carbon emissions. Offering reduced CO₂ output, the aircraft delivers performance aligned with the aviation industry’s sustainability goals.
