Reports have emerged claiming that Iran has suspended all flights in the Tehran airspace as of midnight. According to Mehr, a semi-official news agency close to Iran, there are allegations that Iran is planning an attack on Israel tonight.
Following these developments, the German-based airline giant Lufthansa has decided to suspend its flights unilaterally amidst escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. Lufthansa announced that it is suspending Tehran flights until Thursday, April 11, citing the heightened tensions in the Middle East.
Countries in the region and the United States are on high alert and prepared for a possible Iranian attack following the assault on the Iranian consulate in Syria on April 1.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated on Wednesday that Israel, which attacked the Iranian Embassy compound in Damascus, will be punished. In response, the Israeli Foreign Minister warned Khamenei that Israel would retaliate if Iran attacked Israeli territory.
