A SunExpress Airlines Boeing 737-8 MAX, operating flight XQ-9282 from İzmir to Diyarbakır on October 4, 2024, was forced to return due to a technical issue. The aircraft, registered as TC-SMD, had to stop its climb at 12,000 feet shortly after takeoff from İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport. The crew reported an elevator jam to air traffic control (ATC) and requested an emergency return.
