Busy Air Traffic at Airports Across Turkey. 129 Million Passengers Served in July

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that a total of 129,738,772 passengers were served at airports across Turkey in July. Uraloğlu stated, “The passenger traffic served in July 2024 increased by 2.7% compared to the same month in 2023.”

July Statistics

According to the airline, passenger, and cargo statistics for July 2024 released by the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ), 87,013 domestic and 97,086 international flights took place. Including overflights, the total aircraft traffic reached 234,683. Domestic flight traffic increased by 2%, international flight traffic by 1.8%, and total aircraft traffic by 3.5%.

Passenger Traffic and Cargo Transportation

In July, domestic passenger traffic was recorded at 9,357,452, and international passenger traffic at 15,520,238. Including direct transit passengers, a total of 24,905,463 passengers were served. Domestic passenger traffic increased by 0.6%, international passenger traffic by 3.9%, and total passenger traffic by 2.7%. In July, the total cargo traffic at airports reached 498,084 tons.

129.5 Million Passengers in Seven Months

In the first seven months of 2024, 519,004 domestic and 484,199 international flights took place. Including overflights, the total aircraft traffic reached 1,306,484. Domestic flight traffic increased by 3.5%, international flight traffic by 7.7%, and total aircraft traffic by 7.2%. In the first seven months, domestic passenger traffic was recorded at 55,514,472, international passenger traffic at 74,088,482, and transit passenger traffic at 135,818. Total passenger traffic increased by 9.8%. A total of 2,740,269 tons of cargo was transported, with 504,737 tons on domestic flights and 2,235,533 tons on international flights.

Airports in Tourism Centers

In the first seven months of 2024, airports in tourism centers served 10,500,115 domestic passengers and 22,061,215 international passengers. Between January and July, Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport served a total of 6,506,143 passengers, Antalya Airport 20,204,166 passengers, Muğla Dalaman Airport 2,330,357 passengers, Muğla Milas-Bodrum Airport 2,330,357 passengers, and Gazipaşa Alanya Airport 584,501 passengers.
