SAHA 2026 reached 3.3 billion impressions across international digital media platforms. TRT World’s post featuring the Yıldırımhan Ballistic Missile stood out in terms of global engagement.
Türkiye’s rise in the defense, aviation, and space industries once again attracted global attention through the International Defense, Aviation and Space Industry Fair SAHA 2026. Held at the Istanbul Expo Center, the event generated significant interest, particularly across European Union countries and U.S.-based digital media platforms. According to data from MTM Media Monitoring Center, SAHA 2026-related content achieved approximately 3.3 billion total impressions, while posts about the fair received more than 241,000 engagements.
Strong Interest in SAHA 2026 from Europe and the United States
Held between May 5–9, 2026, SAHA 2026 stood out not only for its physical attendance but also for its international media visibility. Research conducted by MTM Media Monitoring Center across 187 languages and more than 150 million sources revealed the fair’s global impact through comprehensive data.
The analysis, covering the period between April 13 and May 13, 2026, identified a total of 19,815 digital mentions of SAHA 2026 abroad. Of these, 16,815 appeared on social media platforms, while 3,000 were published on online news websites.
According to the research, 85 percent of the total visibility originated from social media platforms, while 15 percent came through internet media outlets.
Europe Ranked First, the U.S. Challenged for the Top Spot
In the continental distribution, Europe ranked first with a 45 percent share. Europe was followed by North America with 29 percent and Asia with 19 percent. On a country basis, the United States topped the list with 5,463 mentions.
The prominence of the Netherlands and Germany following the United States demonstrated that SAHA 2026 was closely monitored particularly by NATO member states and Western defense industry circles.
Experts emphasize that Türkiye’s domestically developed defense technologies are now becoming part of not only the regional but also the global defense ecosystem agenda.
TRT World’s Yıldırımhan Ballistic Missile Post Drew Major Attention
One of the most highly engaged pieces of content during the fair was TRT World’s post about the “Yıldırımhan Ballistic Missile.” The post, which spread widely on Facebook, received strong engagement from international users interested in defense technologies.
According to social media demographic data, 76 percent of engaged users were male, while 24 percent were female. In terms of age distribution, the 25–34 age group ranked first with a 52 percent share.
This data indicated that defense industry content achieved particularly high visibility among young professionals and technology-oriented user groups.
Turkish and English Content Drove Digital Visibility
In language-based analyses, Turkish-language content ranked first with 7,900 mentions and a 40 percent share. English-language content followed closely with 7,428 mentions and a 37 percent share.
While Turkish content stood out on social media platforms, English-language publications achieved higher visibility across online news websites. This demonstrated that SAHA 2026 secured strong visibility both within the domestic public sphere and across the international media ecosystem.
Most SAHA 2026 Content Was Neutral or Positive
According to MTM Media Monitoring Center’s analysis, 76 percent of the fair-related content was evaluated as neutral in tone, 21 percent as positive, and only 3 percent as negative.
The overall picture shows that SAHA 2026 occupied a highly visible position on the international digital agenda with extensive reach and a predominantly positive perception.
