RUNWAY TEMPORARILY CLOSED
In a statement made by Taoyuan International Airport Corporation, it was reported that the north runway was temporarily closed following the incident, and takeoffs and landings were conducted via a single runway. After aircraft debris and foreign objects on the runway were cleared, the north runway was reopened to traffic at 17:35.
Authorities emphasized that most delays were limited to 20 minutes.
OFFICIAL AUTHORITIES INFORMED
The airport operator stated that the Civil Aviation Administration, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, and the Taiwan Transportation Safety Board were informed about the incident. It was noted that investigations into the cause of the incident are ongoing, and that runway inspections and FOD prevention measures will be strengthened.
