CANiK, the global brand of Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS Group) in light and medium-calibre weapon systems, has added a new success to its export achievements.
The “TURQUALITY® Vision Meeting and Branding Conference,” organised to mark the 20th anniversary of the Turquality Support Programme, was held on 5 December 2025 at the Turkish Exporters Assembly Şehit Ömer Halisdemir Conference Hall with high-level participation.
At the ceremony attended by the Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, TİM President Mustafa Gültepe and industry representatives, awards were presented to companies included in the Turquality Support Programme that have demonstrated success in exports.

CANiK received an award in the category of “Turquality Champion for the Highest Exports to Distant Countries,” certifying its export success.
CANiK’s award was presented to Nafia Didem Aral, Member of the SYS Group Board of Directors, by former Minister of State Kürşat Tüzmen, the originator of the Turquality Support Programme.

Nafia Didem Aral made the following remarks regarding the award:
“As CANiK, we represent Türkiye’s production strength, engineering capabilities and global vision in the international arena. We consider each of our export products as an external reflection of Türkiye’s intellectual capital, R&D strength and independence vision.
For this reason, we continue our activities without limits both in value-added production based on quality and high technology, and in bringing these products to international markets.

When we look at the figures, while the average per-kilogram value of the Turkish defence industry in 2024 was 67 dollars, our company’s export value as SYS Group reached 125 dollars. Our goal in the coming period is to raise this figure to the 250-dollar band.
With our facilities in Türkiye, the US and the UK, our CANiK brand has become a structure that grows on a global scale and ‘exports products manufactured by Turkish engineers to the world’, proudly representing the Türkiye brand in quality, trust and engineering in more than 80 countries today.
However, for us, the main success is to transform the ‘Made in Türkiye’ label on every system we produce into a quality mark. We extend our thanks to Turquality, the world’s first and only state-supported branding programme, and to all stakeholders who have contributed to this process.”
Other companies and representatives receiving awards in different sectors at the ceremony were: Bilal Ekşi on behalf of THY, Zeynep Keskin on behalf of TÜPRAŞ, Bertan Kurt on behalf of TUSAŞ, Ömer Bakır on behalf of Merinos, Ozan Faik Tumba on behalf of Bor Çelik, Fatih Özkadı on behalf of Beko, Şenay İdil on behalf of Alp Aviation, and İbrahim Begen on behalf of Yücel Boru.
