Drunk Female Pilot Crisis at Edinburgh Airport: Flight Cancelled

An incident that endangered passenger safety occurred yesterday evening at the UK’s Edinburgh Airport. On British Airways flight BA1457 from Edinburgh to London, a 51-year-old female pilot travelling as a passenger hurled insults and displayed aggressive behaviour under the influence of alcohol.

Following the incident, the captain cancelled the take-off and taxied the aircraft back to the stand. Witnesses reported that the intoxicated pilot was “extremely aggressive” and used foul language.

During the police intervention, the female pilot resisted arrest but was taken into custody. Authorities confirmed that she was immediately suspended from duty. British Airways declined to provide further details, citing the ongoing investigation.

As a result of the disruption, the London flight departed with a delay of about one and a half hours. Police Scotland stated: “A woman has been arrested and charged in connection with aviation offences and assaults.”
