EUROCONTROL Data: Istanbul Airport at the Top, Antalya in the Top 10

According to EUROCONTROL data, Istanbul Airport became Europe’s busiest airport with 1,635 daily flights. Antalya Airport also ranked in the top 10.

Istanbul Airport Becomes Europe’s Busiest Airport

According to EUROCONTROL data, Istanbul Airport ranked first as Europe’s busiest airport between 18–24 August, with a daily average of 1,635 flights. Antalya Airport, meanwhile, secured 8th place with a daily average of 1,055 flights.

The report by the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) covering the period of 18–24 August shows that Istanbul Airport became the busiest airport in Europe with a daily average of 1,635 flights.

Amsterdam Airport ranked second with 1,450 daily flights, followed by Paris Charles De Gaulle with 1,432, Frankfurt Airport with 1,384, and London Heathrow with 1,346 daily flights.

Turkey’s tourism hub Antalya Airport also stood out in the same period, recording 1,055 daily flights and ranking as Europe’s eighth busiest airport.

With its extensive international flight network and passenger capacity, Istanbul Airport continues to carry Türkiye to the top of the global aviation industry.
