Avolon Places Major Order for 90 Next-Generation Aircraft from Airbus

Avolon orders 90 aircraft from Airbus, including 15 A330neos and 75 A321neos. The deal represents a significant investment in efficient and sustainable air transport.

Avolon, one of the world’s leading aviation finance companies, has placed an order for 90 next-generation passenger aircraft with Airbus under a newly signed agreement. The order includes 15 A330neo and 75 A321neo aircraft. With this deal, Avolon’s Airbus portfolio now totals 79 A330neos and 264 A321neos.

This strategic purchase once again highlights the accelerating global trend toward fleet renewal and expansion in the aviation industry.

Avolon CEO Andy Cronin: “Long-term demand will remain strong”

Commenting on the order, Avolon CEO Andy Cronin said:

“This order is a clear demonstration of our confidence in the long-term demand for next-generation aircraft. Thanks to our strong balance sheet and scale, we will continue to support our airline customers in meeting their fleet renewal and growth needs over the next decade. The strong demand for both the A321neo and A330neo reflects the long-term growth trajectory of aviation.”

Airbus: “Avolon’s commitment is encouraging”

Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, EVP Sales, Commercial Aircraft at Airbus, added:

“Lessors are key indicators of market trends. We are pleased to see Avolon increase its commitment to the A320 Family and the A330neo following their large order two years ago. This order underscores the strong appeal both aircraft types have across a broad customer base.”

A330neo and A321neo: A New Era in Efficiency

The A330neo (A330-900), powered by new-generation Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, offers an impressive range of 7,200 nautical miles (13,300 km). It delivers 25% lower fuel burn, CO₂ emissions, and operating costs compared to previous-generation aircraft.

Its Airspace cabin sets new standards for passenger comfort with larger overhead bins, advanced lighting systems, and modern in-flight entertainment connectivity infrastructure.

The A321neo, the largest member of Airbus’s highly popular A320neo Family, offers advantages such as long range, low fuel consumption, and reduced noise.

Equipped with new-generation engines and Sharklet technology, the aircraft delivers over 20% fuel savings and 50% noise reduction, making it an environmentally friendly solution.

Investing in Sustainable Aviation

Both aircraft models are capable of operating with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), with Airbus targeting 100% SAF capability by 2030. This feature represents a major step toward eco-friendly transportation and a lower carbon footprint.
