Goal to Increase the Number of Chinese Tourists to 1 Million
IGA Istanbul Airport continues to strengthen its ties by expanding flight routes and enhancing the connection between Turkey and China. At the recent Sichuan Airlines – Routes & Product Conference, a significant goal was announced: increasing the annual influx of Chinese tourists to Turkey from 250,000 in 2023 to 1 million within the next 2-3 years.

As a China-Friendly Airport, IGA Istanbul Airport is dedicated to improving the guest experience for Chinese visitors. In line with this commitment, plans were unveiled to increase the number of flights to China from four to seven per week. The signed agreements represent a crucial step toward achieving this goal.
Collaboration with Sichuan Airlines and Sichuan Airports Authority
The partnership agreement with Sichuan Airlines and the Sichuan Airports Authority includes regular meetings, information sharing, joint aviation development, destination promotion, and employee exchange programs. This collaboration aims to further strengthen the aviation links between Turkey and China.
Strong Partnerships with Chinese Airlines
Since 2020, collaborations with leading airlines such as Air China, China Southern, China Eastern, and Sichuan Airlines have made Turkey more accessible to Chinese passengers. These partnerships have facilitated easier and more comfortable travel for Chinese tourists visiting Turkey.
