Ukraine has launched long-range missile strikes on critical military and industrial targets in Russia’s Rostov region, specifically in the city of Taganrog. These attacks aim to disrupt Russia’s war efforts and target critical infrastructure. One of the most notable targets of these strikes was the Beriev Aircraft Factory, where the Ilyushin Il-80 Maxdome aircraft, known as the “Flying Kremlin” and used for potential nuclear war scenarios, is located.
Beriev Aircraft Factory and the Flying Kremlin
The Beriev Aircraft Factory is responsible for the production and modernization of Russia’s special-purpose aircraft. Among these is the Ilyushin Il-80 Maxdome, a key asset for Putin’s nuclear war scenarios. This aircraft serves as a command center for Russia’s air forces and plays a crucial role in the event of nuclear conflict. Additionally, the factory is involved in the modernization of A-50 early warning and control aircraft. During the war, two of these types of planes were shot down.
Krasny Hydropress Factory and Other Targets
Another target of the strikes was the Krasny Hydropress factory, which plays an important role in Russia’s tactical missile production. During the attacks, 14 vehicles were set on fire, and numerous fire teams were dispatched to the scene. While the exact scale of the explosions is unknown, it is speculated that Ukraine may have used Palyanitsa drone missiles or ATACMS missiles supplied by the U.S. in the strikes.
