TUSAŞ is the abbreviation for Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. It is one of Turkey’s largest aerospace and defence companies. TUSAŞ was established in 1984 through a collaboration between the Turkish Air Force Command and the Defence Industry Presidency.

Headquartered in Ankara, the company has a large facility and works on aerospace and aviation technologies such as aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and spacecraft. Additionally, it provides aircraft maintenance, repair, and modernisation services.

One of TUSAŞ’s most important projects is the Hürkuş, Turkey’s first indigenous trainer aircraft. The company also carries out the modernisation of F-16 fighter jets in service with the Turkish Air Force.

TUSAŞ is regarded as a strategic project in Turkey’s defence industry. The company works to develop domestic and national defence industry capabilities, meet Turkey’s defence needs, and reduce dependency on foreign suppliers. Furthermore, TUSAŞ aims to be recognised internationally as a leading aerospace and defence company.
