Airbus, in cooperation with Turkish Airlines (THY), organised the “Turkey Industrial Cooperation Meeting 2025” in Toulouse on 3–4 November 2025. The forum aimed to deepen the collaboration between Airbus and Turkey’s aviation industry and to expand international opportunities for Turkish suppliers. During the event, Turkish suppliers and public institutions came together with Airbus’s relevant procurement teams and leading global suppliers.
Throughout the organisation, around 40 Turkish supplier companies and relevant public institutions met with Airbus’s procurement managers and top global suppliers at the Airbus Leadership University in Blagnac. On the first day of the event, participants visited Airbus’s final assembly line, set up supplier stands, and received information about procurement processes. On the second day, one-on-one meetings were held to evaluate new business opportunities within Airbus programmes.
The two-day Turkey Industrial Cooperation Meeting 2025 was organised within the framework of the “Strategic Turkey Enhancement Programme (STEP)”, which aims to maximise cooperation opportunities with Turkey’s aviation industry by 2040. The STEP programme, jointly conducted by Airbus, Turkish Airlines (THY) and Rolls-Royce, focuses on four key areas: strengthening Turkey’s aviation industry, supporting collaborations with Turkish Airlines and its subsidiaries, developing human capabilities and introducing new competencies, and supporting sustainability activities. Based on the Airbus Competitive Industry Programme (CIP), which has been in effect since 2009, STEP includes initiatives to enhance supply chain capabilities and, starting from 2025, regularly hosts B2B industrial events that bring the Turkish aviation industry together with Airbus’s supplier ecosystem.
For over 20 years, Turkey has stood out as an integral part of Airbus’s supply chain. Turkey continues to play an active role in all major Airbus aircraft programmes, from the A220 to the flagship A350 and, in the past, the A380. Today, every Airbus commercial aircraft produced—from the A220 to the A350—includes parts manufactured in Turkey. Airbus provides over 3,000 direct aviation jobs in Turkey. Within the framework of the industrial cooperation agreements between Airbus and Turkish Airlines, the total cumulative business volume generated in Turkey has exceeded 4.6 billion USD, of which approximately 600 million USD was realised in 2024.
