A New Era of Earning Miles with the Miles&Smiles – Sindbad Partnership from Oman Air and Turkish Airlines
Oman Air and Turkish Airlines have announced a new Frequent Flyer Program (FFP) partnership aimed at offering broader benefits to frequent travelers. Effective 1 August 2025, members of Turkish Airlines’ Miles&Smiles and Oman Air’s Sindbad programs will be able to earn miles on flights operated by both carriers.
Through this partnership, Miles&Smiles members will be able to accumulate miles not only on Oman Air’s domestic destinations such as Muscat, Salalah, and Khasab but also across the airline’s extensive network from the Middle East to Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Sindbad members will earn miles on flights operated by Turkish Airlines, benefiting from the travel flexibility offered by the Turkey-based global network.
Turkish Airlines’ Miles&Smiles program, with over 21 million members worldwide, offers loyal travelers a variety of rewards including flights, class upgrades, extra baggage, lounge access, and hotel reservations in exchange for miles. This new collaboration with Oman Air further expands the program’s global reach.
Mileage Earning Rates:

First Class: Up to 200% of flight distance

Business Class: Up to 150% of flight distance

Economy Class: Between 10% – 100% depending on fare type
For example, a Miles&Smiles member traveling in Economy (Y class) on the Muscat – Istanbul route will earn miles equal to 100% of the flight distance.
Important Notes:

Only eligible fare classes earn miles; promotional tickets may be excluded.

Award tickets do not earn additional miles.

Retroactive mileage claims must be made within 12 months of the flight date.

Miles&Smiles numbers must be provided during booking or check-in.
Oman Air officials stated that this collaboration supports plans to launch new destinations such as Rome and Amsterdam, as well as increase frequencies on existing routes like London and Moscow.
This agreement is considered a key step in both airlines’ strategies to expand global loyalty options and provide passengers with a seamless travel experience.
