Turkish Airlines Aircraft Struck by Lightning After Take-off, Tyre Burst on Landing!

The Boeing 777-300ER aircraft operating Turkish Airlines’ Istanbul–Paris flight burst a tyre during landing at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. Passengers were evacuated via stairs while fire crews were dispatched to the aircraft.

The Boeing 777-300ER passenger aircraft operating Turkish Airlines’ TK1821 Istanbul–Paris flight burst a tyre during landing at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. The aircraft was safely brought to a stop after the incident, and passengers were disembarked via stairs.

Struck by Lightning After Take-off

It was learned that the aircraft was struck by lightning shortly after take-off due to adverse weather conditions over Istanbul and the surrounding area. No issues were detected during the initial technical inspection carried out on the ground. The pilots continued the flight after consulting with maintenance teams.

Tyre Burst on Landing

The main landing gear tyre of the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, registered TC-JJT, burst during its landing in Paris. The pilots immediately reported the situation to the tower and safely brought the aircraft to a stop on the taxiway.

Fire Crews Dispatched to the Scene

In line with the tower’s instructions and as a precaution against possible risks, fire crews were dispatched to the aircraft’s location. Once safety measures were taken by the teams, the evacuation process began.

Passengers Taken to the Terminal by Stairs

Passengers on board were safely disembarked via the stairs brought to the scene. They were then taken into the terminal building, completing the process without further issues.
