Training Aircraft Crashes in İzmir: Student Pilot Berfu Hatipoğlu Dies
A Cessna 172 training aircraft belonging to the Turkish Aeronautical Association crashed near Torbalı district in İzmir. Student pilot Berfu Hatipoğlu, flying solo, died at the scene.
A single-engine Cessna 172 training aircraft crashed near Torbalı district in İzmir during a training flight. The aircraft, registered TC-CDC and owned by the Turkish Aeronautical Association (THK), was being flown solo by student pilot Berfu Hatipoğlu, who died in the crash.
Hatipoğlu, who had taken off in the morning, was performing maneuvers over Torbalı as part of her solo flight. Shortly afterward, the aircraft crashed into a cornfield in Kırbaş neighborhood.

Search and rescue teams, along with medical personnel, were dispatched to the area following the report. Numerous local residents also assisted the teams. After the operation, the wreckage was located, and it was confirmed that Hatipoğlu had died at the scene.
Authorities announced that an investigation into the accident has been launched.
